How can I get a list of expired and expiring home building permits?

TL;DR: City Signals Data lists home building permits that expired or expire in the next 30 days in Austin, Cincinnati, New Orleans and Mesa, where the city publishes permit status. Property facts such as year built, assessed value, code cases and flood zone are added for Austin and Cincinnati. It comes in the weekly metro file at $150 per month or $490 per year.

Which cities have expiring permit lists?

Austin TX, Cincinnati OH, New Orleans LA and Mesa AZ, because those cities publish permit status. Chicago's permit feed has no expiration status, so there is no expiring-permit list for Chicago.

What property facts come with each permit?

For Austin and Cincinnati: year built, assessed or market value, code cases in the last 5 years, FEMA flood zone and census-tract income and home value. Where a source does not publish a value, the cell is blank, never zero.

Is the job ZIP included?

Only where the city publishes it, which today is Austin and Cincinnati. The New Orleans and Mesa permit feeds have no job ZIP.

Can I see a real sample?

Yes. The free sample has 25 real Austin rows in CSV, with the government source link on each row.

Can I use it for credit, insurance, hiring or renting decisions?

No. It is marketing and market research data, not a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

How much does it cost?

It is part of the weekly metro file: $150 per month or $490 per year for one metro.
